    Hello everyone... Empty Hello everyone...

    Post by 2AMom4Life Mon Aug 26, 2013 12:40 pm

Hi everyone. I am a 29 year old mother to two beautiful daughters, ages 9 and 3. I have been married since 2004 and with my husband since 1999. I was not raised in a household where firearms were an everyday occurrence, but I was raised to respect them, not fear them.

In the past few years, I have watched the level of violence against innocent lives escalate dramatically in the area where we live. One of our nearest towns now has one of the highest per capita incidents of gun violence (no, thankfully, I do not live in Illinois). In one weekend, there were around 10 calls the emergency center reporting shots fired. If that isn’t a good reason to become a law-abiding, educated, informed citizen with the right to carry, I do not know what is.

A lot of people ask me, “Why do you carry?” My answer is out of love. Love for my family, my friends, and most of all my children. I am fortunate enough to live in a state where we have the choice to open-carry or concealed-carry. We are required to pass a state-mandated training course and submit to thorough background screenings prior to being legalized to conceal carry.

I have been able to overcome many obstacles and I now feel empowered on a daily basis, given the fact that I can protect myself, my family, my property and my country. I hope that everyone can get to the point in their life to feel empowered to do the same.
