OC and CC I choose both!

Post by AlaskaGirl907 on Wed Aug 28, 2013 2:30 pm

We are lucky enough to be able to conceal and open carry here without any permit. Depending on the day, location and yes....outfit I will do either or. I have just a Crossfire Traverse holster that I use to carry my G26. But there are times I am just running out quickly and I will pocket my handgun. As for they why I carry? Because I want the control of protecting myself. I don't need to rely on anyone else for that. And being that we live in such a wide spread area calling 911 is like waiting for the cable guy. They will be there to help you between the hours of really though it could be at least a 20 minute wait and that's on the quick side. When my house is being invaded I don't think the criminal is going to wait. I want to be able to defend myself and my children. A 5 second chambering of a round is a lot quicker then a 30 minute wait for the troopers.

wow you are very lucky. Here in Michigan we can open carry here and conceal carry as well. However, we need a permit for the CC. I would never attempt to open carry unless I was in the woods and no one was around. The police would stop you and harass you all the time.

It is so common place SO common place to OC here that its just another day in the AK. Its not just handguns either. You see people riding around on their ATVs with their rifles all the time. Its usually not a question of IF your armed its a question of if your NOT lol
